A2A How can you fix a RAM slot on a PC motherboard that doesn’t recognize RAM sticks? Assuming the other slots recognize RAM ok, and assuming the RAM that you are trying to insert in the bad RAM slot works fine in other slots, then the problem is. Yes it is possible to clean RAM slots. To clear of debris use canned air as previously mentioned. Before doing any of the following, unplug it, press the power button for 30 seconds and let it sit for an hour or more for the capacitors to dissipate their charge.Choose your iMac model

The internal components of your iMac can be warm. If you’ve been using your iMac, wait ten minutes after shutting it down to let the internal components cool.
After you shut down your iMac and give it time to cool, follow these steps:
*Disconnect the power cord and all other cables from your computer.
*Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or other flat surface to prevent scratching the display.
*Hold the sides of the computer and slowly lay the computer face-down on the towel or cloth.
*Open the memory compartment door by pressing the small grey button located just above the AC power port:
*The memory compartment door will open as the button is pushed in. Remove the compartment door and set it aside:
*A diagram on the underside of the compartment door shows the memory cage levers and the orientation of the DIMM. Locate the two levers on the right and left sides of the memory cage. Push the two levers outward to release the memory cage:
*After the memory cage is released, pull the memory cage levers toward you, allowing access to each DIMM slot.
*Remove a DIMM by pulling the module straight up and out. Note the location of the notch on the bottom of the DIMM. When reinstalling DIMMs, the notch must be oriented correctly or the DIMM won’t fully insert:
*Replace or install a DIMM by setting it down into the slot and pressing firmly until you feel the DIMM click into the slot. When you insert a DIMM, make sure to align the notch on the DIMM to the DIMM slot. Find your model below for specific installation instructions and notch locations:

Even just a small strategical adjustment in poker can potentially save you a huge amount in the long run.
In this article we will point out some of the best live and online poker tournament strategy tips you can use to improve your game as quickly as possible.Tip 1: Play The Right Starting Hands
Whether it be lack of patience, or an unfamiliarity with opening ranges, many tournament poker players still open too wide. This is especially true when it comes to early and middle position opens, where there are still many opponents left to act behind who can be dealt a strong hand.
The problem is when called, wide openers are often at a range disadvantage. Often being dominated by their opponents, they are vulnerable to 3 bets since they frequently won’t have a holding strong enough to continue under pressure.
Furthermore, although opening a hand like 7 ♠ 5♠ might at times not be a terrible strategy from early or middle position, speculative hands like suited connectors and gappers, as well as small pairs, work best with deep stacks behind.
These speculative hand types infrequently connect strongly with the flop, so those times they do you want to have deep stakes behind to have the potential to win a huge pot. Modern day tournament structures often only see deep stack play occur during the first few levels of play. This leads us into the next tournament poker tip, being stack size aware.
Learn which hands to open raise in MTT’s - Watch lesson 6.1 from the Road to Success MTT Course. A power-packed 50 minute video below, just use one of the button options to unlock it and get instant access. Tip 2: Be Stack Size Aware
Effective stack size plays a critical role in a tournament players success.
Having a deep stack, and therefore expanding an opening range to include a lot of speculative suited hands and small pairs is a tournament strategy that is going to be punished if a number of short stacks are yet to act behind. This most notably occurs in turbo tournaments where the average stack size is quite short.
Short stacks will be in push-or-fold mode. Being short, they don’t have time to wait and will be looking to take any opportunity they can to move all-in. This high rate of all-ins will leave wide openers frequently being forced to relinquish their hands, without even having the opportunity to try to hit a nice flop. Problematic hands often include; J8s , KTo and weak Ax hands.
It’s not just short-stacks that can cause a problem, aggressive players will be looking to attack wide-openers. This is especially true when a player opens with a vulnerable M8-M14 (20bb-35bb) stack. 3 bets get good leverage against this stack size, since continuing in the pot represents committing a significant portion of a players stack.
Wide openers would be wise not to commit a large percentage of their stack with marginal holdings, and so will be forced to fold, or face being in a high-risk situation. Staying aware of your own stacks utility, as well as anticipating how opponents will utilize their stacks, is an important tournament poker tip to keep in mind.
POKER TIP: If you are currently using BB to calculate stack size, here’s a look at why using ’M’ is a better MTT strategy.Tip 3: Be Careful Overplaying In The Early Stages
As a stack gets deeper, the less willing a competent player will be to put their entire stack at risk since they have more to lose. It’s rare to see good players all-in during the early stages of a tournament with hands like AKo or JJ preflop.
Smart players recognize that their counterparts aren’t going to be risking their entire stack with weaker hands like AQo . Therefore, even a strong hand like AK could be at a significant equity disadvantage facing a deep stacked opponents all-in range. Could you fold QQ here?
Rather than putting in an extra raise, often times just calling with even very strong hands in the early stage of a poker tournament has great benefits.
*Allows your opponents to continue with hands they were folding to a re-raise that you have crushed.
*Disguises the strength of your hand and keeps you unpredictable.
*Prevents you from getting all-in facing a super strong range where often times you’re crushed.Tip 4: Continuation Bet Aggressively But Not Always
Players have learnt the value of c-betting, but it’s a strategy that is often misapplied. Being the preflop aggressor shouldn’t lead to a mandatory c-bet and double barrels.
This is especially true in multi-way pots yet players continue to make fruitless c-bets with weak holdings into multiple opponents.
Even in heads-up situations, key factors to consider include;
*How does the flop texture interact with players ranges?
*Who has the strongest range?
*Who has nut advantage (the biggest share of super strong hands)?
*How passive or aggressive is the opponent we’re facing?
*How does the stack size/SPR allow us to operate on the flop and future streets?
The following hand illustrates the effect nut advantage can have on profitable continuation betting and how it applies to this tournament poker tip:Tip 5: Be ICM Aware
The Independent Chip Model or ICM, is a great model players use to make more profitable decisions when deep in a tournament and especially at a final table.
Unlike in cash games, chip values fluctuate depending on the stage of the tournament and the competing opponents stack sizes. At it’s most extreme, ICM strategy can make A♠A♣: an easy fold preflop.Blackjack Trends 2018
Imagine a situation in a satellite where 9 players get a World Series of Poker entry and there’s 10 remaining. The action folds around to a player with 100,000 in tournament chips who moves all in from the small blind. You’re sitting in the big blind with A♠A♣: and also 100,000 in chips. You look around and see a few opponents with only 1000 chips left, which is the size of the current big blind. Obviously one of these short stacks is likely to bust very soon.
Obviously one of these short stacks is likely to bust very soon. Moreover the chance that they collectively out survive your 100,000 stack is extremely remote. You’d likely be a 99% chance to get a WSOP entry, so why would you call with your A♠A♣ and risk busting next around 20% of the time?
Aside from calling too wide in spots when the most profitable strategy is to proceed tightly, the opposite can also be true when it comes to pressuring your opponents. ICM allows players when they have the opportunity to assert pressure on there opponents stacks, to go ahead and do so liberally, since thinking opponents counter-strategy is to play a tight range of hands.
Here’s an example of how drastically a hand range can change when the opportunity to assert pressure at a final table exists. 5 of the 6 remaining players at the Pokerstars Sunday Millions have 15bb’s, whilst the UTG player has a short 2bb stack. Since the 15bb stacks wants to avoid busting out next and missing out on a large pay jump before the immanent bust out of the 2bb stack, the small blind can adjust their all-in range. Instead of the profitably 57% all-in range in normal play, they can move all-in with 100% of hands to apply pressure on the big blind.
Whilst the big blind should adjust their calling range from the regular 36% to just 10% of hands to account for the ICM effect in play.
The PokerNerve Road to Success course teaches players how to master ICM situations, which is key to tournament poker success since ICM comes into play as the prizes become significant. If there was only one tournament poker tip that you take away from this article, it’s that you need to know ICM!Tip 6: Bet The Appropriate Size
Strong players are capitalizing on their opponents tendencies to bet too big or too small in a number of different situations. With some similar considerations to that of continuation betting, when selecting a bet size important aspects include;
*Which player’s range does the board texture favor?
*Who has the greatest nut saturation?
*How does SPR influence our betting strategy
There are many great articles online about bet sizing. You should be sure to check out ThePokerBank’s and the Pokerology’s to learn more about this tournament tip.Free MTT Poker Training:The Underused MTT Skills Essential For Success

Possibly due to the popularity growth of Twitch, many poker players approach to big blind play has evolved. The current trend is to defend the big blind with virtually any 2 cards, as some top pros elect to do, and the justification for this is taking advantage of the excellent pot odds being offered.
While the inclusion of antes combined with commonly seeing a small open raise size does offer the big blind generous pot odds, this has led to a fundamental flaw in the way many players approach big blind play in poker tournaments. The key concept overlooked, is equity realization.
Equity realization reflects a players ability to take a certain hand, and win their share of the pot, frequently enough, to make it profitable in the long-term. Although some top pros have the ability to win their equity share of the pot even out of position, less skilled players rarely do. This leads to a large chip loss in the long run.
It is quite difficult to realize of your equity when out of position, with no initiative and a weak range. This means them glorious odds you are being offered aren’t quite as good as you think!
The following article explains this crucial tournament poker tip in more detail; Equity Realization.Tip 8: Don’t Miss Double And Triple Barrel Opportunities
’One and done’ is the plight of many aspiring tournament poker players. Everyday at the tables I see players missing profitable opportunities to double, or even triple barrel. Understanding what turn and river cards are advantageous to a players range, along with opponent tendencies, are crucial parts of a winning barreling formula.
The most common scenario at the table, is a heads-up pot where the big blind calls an open-raise. And this happens to be a great spot to barrel. Big blind defenders have a wide range, and it’s important to pressure this wide range, especially on only partially connected board textures with one or multiple high cards.
RedChipPoker has a great article on spotting profitable double barrel opportunities which you can read here: THE +EV DOUBLE BARREL GUIDETip 9: Check-Raise More Flops
The biggest difference between the current tournament population, and the future generation, will likely be their approach to check-raising the flop. This opportunity typically occurs in a heads-up pot, after defending the big blind verse an opponents raise.Poker Trends 2020
Currently, MTT players only check-raise the flop in this situation around 7-8% of the time, when closer to 20% is a more optimal strategy. On certain flop textures, check-raising close to 25% of the time is an extremely profitable strategy. And if players are getting out of line with their c-bets, then check-raising at an even higher frequency could be a profitable exploit.
By giving up too easily on a wide range of board textures, or taking a more passive approach and simply calling, c-betting can be done with reckless abandon. However, by selecting a nice mix of check-raising hands, combining some strong hands with some good semi-bluffing candidates, a check-raiser can become tricky to play against and exploit the average players tendency to over c-bet.
POKER TIP: Applied correctly and check-raising becomes a super powerful weapon in your arsenal leading to more profitable poker results. But also think beyond the flop, there’s plenty of check-raising opportunities you may be missing. This video demonstrates an interesting turn check-raise situation.
We discuss check raising strategy in more detail in our post over on unfeltedpoker.com.Tip 10: Develop A Good 3betting Strategy
Whilst 3 betting aggressively is a strategy many players employ, especially in online poker circles, failure to apply optimal 3 betting strategies has certainly led to a lot of spewy poker. Simply attacking opponents who are suspected of opening wide doesn’t cut it in the modern poker world.
Players have learnt to deal with 3 bets more profitably, by mixing in some calls with timely 4 bets. Moreover, the role stack size plays when it comes to 3 betting it still largely misunderstood by much of the poker community.Online Poker Trends
Sure there are certain stack sizes where 3 bets gain a lot of leverage, but how about the role blockers play? And when is 9♦7♦ a better 3 bet candidate than K♦T♠ ? These are just some of the considerations when it comes to a profitable 3 betting strategy. See how to design strong 3betting ranges in this article by Donkr.Bonus Poker Strategy Tip: Avoid and Deal with Downswings
As a poker player you want to earn your money as easily and as stress-free as possible right? Well, understanding ROI, variance and bankroll management can help (see TopPokerValue’s article on bankroll management).
All poker players at some point experience downswings. In some cases, this can affect their play, volume or state of mind.
You’ll be miserable, hating poker, playing less and earning less per tournament as your play will suffer.
Along with finding ways that work for you to keep a positive mindset, taking pro-active steps can help keep you confident by knowing you are dealing with the situation like a professional whilst at the same time taking positive action to get back on track and winning.
What is ROI and variance?
Every tournament you enter has an EV associated with it. So if you enter a $10 tourney, as a good player maybe you have a 30% ROI, so you make $3. So it doesn’t matter whether you brick that tourney or win it for $5000, you make $3 in the long run.
Now, of course, you don’t make $3 each time. 80-85% of the time you lose that $10, some percentage of the time you win a little bit, and some very small percentage of the time you win a lot. How small those ‘small percentages’ are primarily depends on not only your skill edge, but also the field size which is an extremely important concept that is often ignored.
Variance is a factor of two things:
1) Your edge
2) The field size
Example 1)
You play the Hot $55 which has $30K guaranteed, every day for a year on Pokerstars. It has 1600 runners and you have a 5% ROI, because turbo ROIs are small. Your average yearly profit is $605 however you will lose money on the year 55% of the time.
Example 2)Google Trends Poker
You play a $20 tourney with $3K guaranteed on a softer site every day for a year. It has 200 runners and you have a 30% ROI, because it’s a normal speed tourney and you’re against an easier field. Your average yearly profit is $2400 and in this case you lose money only 12% of the time.

A lot of people would look at those two tournaments and make a decision based on the buy-in and 1st place prize money as to which was better to play, and it would be grossly wrong. Once you accept all the above, you realise that the ’up top’ number is largely meaningless.
Yes, on the same site bigger fields may mean a lot of fish have registered to play, but you’ll find a lot of small field, soft, non-peak hour tournaments have a great pro-to-fish ratio and hence are great value. Of course once you consider other sites that have smaller fields, you’ll often find they are a better choice than what might be running on Pokerstars.
So what can you do?
When players start losing money and along with that, confidence, not only does their game deteriorate but they often compound that problem by failing to make rational decisions. Often losing players, or players on a downswing, go ’bink chasing’ and decide to take a shot to win all their money back in one tourney. Or load up some quick $82 hyper-turbos to try to turn it all around quickly.
People get overly fixated on what’s ’up top’ and wanting to score big in one tournament. That’s a sure-fire strategy to fuel a down swing. If your house got knocked down would you try to slap it back up in a week? Take that opportunity to rebuild a better, stronger house.
Make sure you’re adding in some study and keep focused (see Sky’s Matsuhashi How To Study Poker series), and stay fresh and positive as you approach each session. Be smart and get back into profit quicker instead of enduring a 6-12 month variance rollercoaster!Closing Words On Tournament Poker Tips
Poker is a multi-faceted game which makes it fun but challenging. Challenge yourself to factor in the relevant concepts, and make more profitable decisions. Tighten up from the big blind, and in general around the table. This tip often quickly improves a new players results, or those that have a got a little sloppy with their play.
Calculate stack size using ’M’. Always be aware of your own, and your opponents stack sizes so you don’t get yourself caught in awkward situations. One awkward situation that often comes up is when you hold an overpair to the board and an opponent puts the heat on you. Don’t be afraid to make big lay downs to preserve your stack, especially in the early levels.
Be aware of your cbetting frequency. There’s no need to waste tournament poker chips cbetting every time, especially when the pot is multi-way. Pick your spots to make profitable pl

A circularly polarized waveguide slot array includes first and second waveguide sections, the first waveguide section extending along a longitudinal axis, and including an antenna element for transmitting or receiving a circularly polarized signal. The second waveguide slot section is coupled side-to-side with the first waveguide slot section and extends along the longitudinal axis, the second. Planar slot array antennas are well known in the art and generally include radiating slot apertures cut in the broad walls of several contiguous waveguides or waveguide cavities that form the aperture, and some means of distributing a radio frequency signal in such a way as to excite each radiating slot with the proper electric field to produce. Slot antenna (LPSA). The impedance matching and the radiation characteristics of these structures were studied using a method of moment technique. Simulated and measured results for different dielectrics are presented. Index Terms—Coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed, slot antennas, wide-band antennas. A compact substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna array that operates at 28 GHz and 38 GHz is proposed for fifth generation (5G) applications. The proposed array consists of four SIW cavities fabricated on one single layer of substrate. Each cavity implements a rhombic slot and a triangular-split-ring slot, resonating on TE 101 and TE102 modes at 28 GHz and 38&#. Slot antennas are usually used at UHF and microwave frequencies at which wavelengths are small enough that the plate and slot are conveniently small. At these frequencies, the radio waves are often conducted by a waveguide, and the antenna consists of slots in the waveguide; this is called a slotted waveguide antenna.
Slotted antennas, a complement to dipole antennas, have slots a λ/2 long and a fraction of a wavelength wide. The antenna propagates based on Babinet’s principle of a resonant radiator. The key difference between a dipole and a slotted antenna is the field components are interchanged in orientation. Because of the vertical electric field in horizontal orientation, slot arrays can fit on the surface of moving objects without introducing much aerodynamic drag and wind load. For the same size, slotted waveguide array antennas are more efficient than any other planar antenna. Versatility in slot feeding options, ease of weather-proofing and mechanical stability make slotted antennas well-suited for military and defense applications.
For radar and communication systems, Eravant, formerly SAGE Millimeter, has developed the SAW-3533532716-28-L2-WR, a slotted waveguide array antenna operating at 35 GHz with 500 MHz bandwidth. The bandwidth can be increased by increasing the slot width, with cross-polarization increasing as a trade-off. The SAW-3533532716-28-L2-WR slot array supports linear, vertically polarized signals with high aperture efficiency and low VSWR. The antenna has 27 dBi gain with a half-power beamwidth of 16 degrees in the E-plane and 2 degrees in the H-plane. A radome of LEXAN polycarbonate makes the antenna suitable for outdoor applications. Its 1 lb. weight and small size - measuring 11.84 in. x 3.85 in. and just 0.93 in. thick - eases mounting and minimizes the dynamic load to the overall structure. A groove for an O-ring in the standard WR28 waveguide flange (UG-599/U) pressure seals the connecting interface. Integrating the antenna with a T/R diplexer, a dual channel I/Q receiver and an oscillator makes a complete package for many system applications, such as traffic management, law enforcement, communications and military surveillance.
The slot array antennas offered by Eravant span WR90 to WR10 and are designed with MIL-F-3922 designated standard flanges as the microwave connector interface. Casino quotes funny moments.

A slot antenna consists of a metal surface, usually a flat plate, with one or more holes or slots cut out. When the plate is driven as an antenna by an applied radio frequency current, the slot radiates electromagnetic waves in a way similar to a dipole antenna. The shape and size of the slot, as well as the driving frequency, determine the radiation pattern. Multiple slots act as a directivearray antenna and can emit a narrow fan-shaped beam of microwaves. They are used in standard laboratory microwave sources used for research, UHF television transmitting antennas, antennas on missiles and aircraft, sector antennas for cellular base stations, and particularly marine radar antennas. A slot antenna’s main advantages are its size, design simplicity, and convenient adaptation to mass production using either waveguide or PC board technology.Slot Waveguide Antenna PdfStructure[edit]Slotted array UHF television broadcasting antenna
As shown by H. G. Booker in 1946, from Babinet’s principle in optics a slot in a metal plate or waveguide has the same radiation pattern as a driven rod antenna whose rod is the same shape as the slot, with the exception that the electric field and magnetic field directions are interchanged; the antenna is a magnetic dipole instead of an electric dipole; the magnetic field is parallel to the long axis of the slot and the electric field is perpendicular. Thus the radiation pattern of a slot can be calculated by the same well-known equations used for rod element antennas like the dipole. The waves are linearly polarized perpendicular to the slot axis. Slots up to a wavelength long have a single main lobe with maximum radiation perpendicular to the surface.
Antennas consisting of multiple parallel slots in a waveguide are widely used array antennas. They have a radiation pattern similar to a corresponding linear array of dipole antennas, with the exception that the slot can only radiate into the space on one side of the waveguide surface, 180° of the surrounding space. There are two widely used types:Slot Waveguide Antenna
*Longitudinal slotted waveguide antenna - The slots’ axis is parallel to the axis of the waveguide. This has a radiation pattern similar to a collinear dipole antenna, and is usually mounted vertically. The radiation pattern is almost omnidirectional in the horizontal plane perpendicular to the antenna over the 180° azimuth in front of the slot, but narrow in the vertical plane, with the vertical gain increasing approximately 3 dB with each doubling of the number of slots. The radiation is horizontally polarized. It is used for vertical omnidirectional transmitting antennas for UHF television stations. For broadcasting, a cylindrical or semicircular waveguide is sometimes used with several columns of slots cut in different sides to give an omnidirectional 360° radiation pattern.
*Transverse slotted waveguide antenna - The slots are almost perpendicular to the axis of the waveguide but skewed at a small angle, with alternate slots skewed at opposite angles. This radiates a dipole pattern in the plane perpendicular to the antenna, and a very sharp beam in the plane of the antenna. Its largest use is for microwave marine radar antennas. The antenna is mounted horizontally on a mechanical drive that rotates the antenna about a vertical axis, scanning the antenna’s vertical fan-shaped beam 360° around the water surface surrounding the ship out to the horizon with each revolution. The wide vertical spread of the beam ensures that even in bad weather when the ship and the antenna axis is being rocked over a wide angle by waves the radar beam will not miss the surface.History[edit]
The slot antenna was invented in 1938 by Alan Blumlein, while working for EMI. He invented it in order to produce a practical type of antenna for VHF television broadcasting that would have horizontal polarization, an omnidirectional horizontal radiation pattern and a narrow vertical radiation pattern.[1][2]
Prior to its use in surface search radar, such systems used a parabolic segment reflector, or ’cheese antenna’. The slotted waveguide antenna was the result of collaborative radar research carried on by McGill University and the National Research Council of Canada during World War II.[3] The co-inventors, W.H. Watson and E.W. Guptill of McGill, were granted a United States patent for the device, described as a ’directive antenna for microwaves’, in 1951.[4]Slotted waveguide antenna for 2.4 GHz.Other uses[edit]
In a related application, so-called leaky waveguides are also used in the determination of railcar positions in certain rapid transit applications. They are used primarily to determine the precise position of the train when it is being brought to a halt at a station, so that the doorway positions will align correctly with queuing points on the platform or with a second set of safety doors should such be provided.See also[edit]

Save Martingale for having fun at the casino. Why Martingale is not a good idea for Binary Options. Now with digital options there are some things you have to take into consideration. Number 1, you must be aware of the payout percentages because binary trading is a minus-sum game. You never win as much as you bet. First of all, both gambling and binary options include a high risk in predicting a future event of a kind, in hope to win the ultimate payout offered by the broker or the casino. Although binary options are classified as financial instruments they can, just as any financial instrument, be used to gamble.

Binary options are often called also digital options, all-or-nothing options, two-way-options. It has this names because there are only two possible outcomes (in the money or out of the money).
The cash-or-nothing binary option pays some fixed amount of cash if the option expires in-the-money while the asset-or-nothing pays the value of the underlying security.
The payout for digital options is a fixed amount, nothing at all, or a return of the investment in the case of a tie.
Binary options are attractive they are structured in a way that significant payout are possible even with seemingly insignificant moves in the market… The investors get a return in the form of fixed payout based on whether the market rises above or falls under given level at a particular time.
Most blackjack players use flat betting, which is when you bet the same amount all the time. However, some gamblers want more. Progressive blackjack betting systems are popular among players who want to win big and bring more excitement to the game. Does progressive blackjack betting work. Progressive Blackjack is a standard version of Blackjack that has an optional side bet, usually costing £1/€1/$1 depending on the currency you are using. Whilst the important thing is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over, the same as standard Blackjack, the Progressive Jackpot side bet can give you a much bigger win than.

BINARY OPTION EXAMPLE
*A trader is watching the market and based on their analysis predicts the market is going higher, except he is not sure by how much. After, he decides to buy a (binary) call option on the NASDAQ index. The index is currently at 1115 and he finds a binary option through a broker that offers this strike price and that expires before the end of the day. Because binary options are available on all sorts of time frames (from minutes to months) with all sorts of strike prices, he will have no problem finding one to buy. He finds one that offers a 75% payout if the option expires above the strike price (call option), but if the price is below 1115 at the time of expiry he will lose 90% of his investment.
*He can invest any amount he wishes, but this will vary from broker to broker. Actually there is a minimum, such as $10 and a maximum such as $10,000 . The trader invests $100 in a call that will expire in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, he will find out if he won money from binary options or lost. The price at expiry may be the last quoted price, or the (bid+ask)/2. Each broker will specify their expiry price rules, and the trader cannot generally cash out or exit the trade before expiration.
*In this case, when the option expired the last quote on the NASDAQ was 1117. Therefore, our trader makes a profit of $75 (or 75% of $100). Had the price finished below 1115, he would have lost $90 (or 90% of $100). If the price had expired exactly on the strike price, it is common for the trader to receive their money back with no profit or loss, although each broker may have different rules as it is an over the counter market. Profits and losses are transferred into and out of the traders account by the broker.
TIPS ON HOW TO WIN MONEY FROM BINARY OPTIONS
*First you need to anticipate the direction of the price movement of the underlying asset.
*Second you have to decide your position. If you belive the market price will rise or if the economic event will occur.
*Have in mind how the price is determined. Price of a binary option contract is the same with the probability of the event happening. (If the contract value is 100€ and the last trade of the contract was at 95€, it’s an indicator that 95% of the markets believed that the event is going to happen and the contract will bring you money).
*You must know what are the advantages of trading Binary Options.
– They are simpler to trade because they require only a sense of direction of the price movement.
– They offer contracts with short-term durations.
– Binary Options has a controlled risk to reward ratio, this means that the risk and reward are predetermined at the time the contract is acquired.

Binary options have been treated for many years as a new magic weapon for retail investors. A simple concept promised instant wealth. Even without sound knowledge about financial markets. In fact, binary options have always been a game of chance. Millions of investors have de facto being attending a casino and not on the stock market. Their trades were bets against the house. In addition, the casino also operated with manipulated systems to defraud their casino players. New traders were shown high fictitious profits in the dashboard. In fact, the money had long been in the pockets of the operators. Blinded by the fictitious profit, the traders continuously invested new sums. These ’free money’ type of bonuses draw in business in a few different ways, most importantly by handing out a little extra cash. Another big reason “free money” bonuses attract customers – online poker rooms that offer them are generally seen as more “customer friendly”. Online poker rooms benefit from the extra business they get by seeming more friendly. It is worth the $10 here and there because of the traffic it generates.
In this case, the reward:risk on the trade ended up being 1.5:1. That is the absolute minimum we would accept on a trade. Since we know our target, stop loss and entry price at the time of the trade, we would skip it if the reward:risk was less than 1.5:1. Ideally, we prefer trades with 2:1 or higher reward:risk ratios. Truth be told, there is no best strategy in craps, and if there was, no other strategy would be used. Each strategy has its own advantages and disadvantages, so choosing the right option for you should rely solely on your willingness to take risk, and most importantly, the size of. Many players believe that is it safer to hedge their bets on multiple high risk/high reward options, this means that the shooter is more likely to lose their money twice as fast. The best and safest strategy for craps is the Pass line. The specific strategy that a player should use for craps depends on his goals and playing style. If he wants to minimize the house edge, extend his playing time and try to ‘grind out’ a profit he should target the bets with the lower house edge. Unfortunately, they all have relatively low payouts.

Players won’t find a completely free no deposit bonus for poker, but a pretty solid deal nonetheless. For a deposit of $20, players get $30 in free play. Or, on that first deposit players can also choose a 100% match bonus up to $600 instead. The $30 free play bonus includes.
There are five types of bonus that can put a little easy cash in your bank account right away. Tulalip casino conference room. Here are the most popular poker perks that are pretty much “money for nothing”.No Deposit BonusesNo Deposit Poker Bonus Codes
If you’re the kind of poker player that wants to try out an online poker room without much risk, you should look for a room that offers some kind of ’no-deposit bonus’. While many bonuses are tied directly to the amount of cash you deposit (and don’t take effect until you deposit that amount and clear the bonus through rake payouts) the no-deposit bonus exists independently of any cash you throw at the casino.
*The no deposit free spins bonus, on the other hand, is usually limited to one slot. However, that works for the player too as the casino will usually assign this bonus to its best and most popular slot. Sign up with any of the no deposit casinos on our list and you are guaranteed a chance to play the best games around for real money.
*Generally speaking, poker sites use no deposit bonuses to entice new players to try the site. The only thing that you have to offer in return is the time it takes to create a new account. At present, legal online poker is available in four states. You can play poker online in New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Some no-deposit bonuses are more straightforward than others, offering a player a certain amount of money in ’free play’. This means that simply signing up for the poker room of your choice earns you a positive balance in your poker account that you can use to wager as if it were real money. Any winnings you earn with that money are your own -- so are any losses you sustain.
Not all no-deposit bonuses are that simple. I haven’t yet found a no-deposit bonus that didn’t come with a ’standard wagering requirement’. That means that in order to earn actual money against your no-deposit bonus credit, you have to wager a certain amount of cash. When you find out that the wagering requirement you must play is much higher than the offered bonus amount, you realize that this is a pretty shrewd move on the part of the poker room. While it is true that you don’t have to make a deposit to play, you will have to play a certain amount of money to earn any money from that free play.
Bonus whores (can’t we just call them hunters?) prey on no-deposit bonuses like owls prey on mice. They often sign up for dozens of poker accounts with no deposit bonus offers. Even though bonus whoring is rampant, many poker rooms online still offer no-deposit bonuses because they really do increase the number of people playing at a given room.New Depositor Freerolls
Poker freeroll tournaments are the only way I know to learn how to play Texas Hold’em or other poker games online without putting up your own money. Online poker freeroll tournaments aren’t as common as they were at the beginning of the poker phenomenon, but there are still plenty of casinos offering freeroll tournaments, with or without requiring that you make a deposit to your account before you earn entry.
Freroll tournaments open to new depositors are known as (wait for it) new depositor freerolls. Makes sense, doesn’t it? Most online poker rooms have freeroll tourneys available as a bonus or perk to their players making a first time deposit. Some casinos online don’t even require a new deposit to enter a freeroll -- simply signing up for an account is enough to get you free entry into their tournament. Naturally, these tournaments are made up of thousands of new players, so your odds of winning any money for your time are really low. Reload Bonuses
Existing players can earn bonus money just as easily as new players. If you’ve had an account with a poker room and already earned your initial deposit bonus or other perks, you can still let your deposit money make money using a reload bonus. Most often, a reload bonus takes the form of a certain percentage of your reload deposit, and almost always has a top limit. For example, I earned a 50% reload bonus (up to $600) last year at PokerStars.
You have to keep your eyes open and really look for these bonuses, as most online poker rooms are not exactly crazy about advertising reload bonuses to the whole world. Usually, you’ll get an email from the poker room suggesting that if you make a bonus in the next thirty days, you can earn a certain percentage back as a reload bonus.Up Front Bonus
The much sought after ’up front bonus’ seems like it is too good to be true. Unlike normal deposit bonuses, which have payout requirements attached to them before you can earn the money, an up front bonus is earned immediately upon deposit. Currently, Bodog offers a ten percent up front bonus up to $100. This means that new players can earn up to $100 just for signing up. Seems like a small amount, but it is more than most online casinos are paying. Don’t forget that the Bodog up front bonus (and many other up front bonuses) are re-loadable, paying out another up front bonus amount at certain levels of play, up to $400 at a time if you play lots and lots of poker.Rakeback Bonuses
Earning a rakeback bonus from an online poker room means you get back a certain percentage of the rake you pay to the house. These kinds of bonuses are ideal for players who spend a ton of time playing, as the clearing requirements to earn your 35% rakeback (a common number at casinos offering rakeback bonuses) are really high.
Professional players -- people who play poker for a living -- can save thousands of dollars a month on rakeback, while amateur players betting $50 or $60 a month won’t pay enough rake to make this bonus worthwhile.Best Poker Sign Up Bonus No Deposit Account
Since every poker room has a different policy, you may be able to find even better bonuses than those listed here. Some poker rooms will send you a free hat or a t-shirt just for signing up, and even though it is a small one, that is a perk in and of itself. The poker room perks available to you are only limited to your ability to find them. Though there’s still no good way to earn money for nothing, poker room bonuses and perks are as close as you can get.

*Best Online Slots Apps for Android & iOS (2020) Play mobile slots games for real money at one of the top-rated mobile casinos we’ve listed below. Every mobile site and app we recommend offers.
*20 best mobile slots apps for free play or for real money Slots are extremely popular games in online casinos nowadays — if not the most popular ones. There are hundreds of thousands of them available out there, so if you are a newbie, it could be hard to choose which one to play.
*Free slot machines have the same mechanics as the real money games: the same design, features and paytable. The only difference is that the payouts are in credits and playing slots for free, you won’t win real money. If you play to win real cash, you need to make a deposit and play online slots in real.
I know what you’re thinking.
“Why should I have to risk my own money to enjoy playing slot machines on my laptop, iPad, or mobile device?”
And don’t pretend that wasn’t what you were thinking. I’m psychic.
Well, the answer should cheer you: There are plenty of places you can visit on the internet that will give you free access to hundreds of different slot games — all without having to give themmuch more than a valid email address and a password you make up on the spot.
There are a multitude of slot machine apps available for both the iPhone and Android platforms, and they pretty much all operate the same way.
The apps are always free to download, and they’re ostensibly free to play. Still, you may find yourself “penniless” after an hour or so playing one or a dozen surprisingly entertaining slots, atwhich point the app will helpfully offer to sell you more chips.
Depending on the app, the sales pitches can be anywhere between smooth and somewhat subtle to annoying and constant, but they all have something in common: The apps exist to make money, andselling you chips (or access to specific slots) is how they do it.
Once you understand that, you can proceed to enjoy the games.
Choose to purchase more chips or choose to wait until the app gives you more free chips (they all do this). You are in control. By the way, prices for chips tend to range from 99 cents for enoughto play for a few hours up to $199 for enough to play for, well, more than a few hours, I would hope.
I recommend patience. It only costs you time, while impatience costs you money. Besides, if you sign up with two or three free slot apps, you can move from one to the next seamlessly, farmingyour free chips as you go. Just a tip.
Here are the five best free slot apps I’ve tried that give you more than your money’s worth.
Real money slot apps can deliver the action that slot machines provide without any of the hassle. As long as you have a connected device of some kind, such as a phone, tablet or smartwatch, you’ll be ready to spin and win. And when we say win, we mean that you can indeed win huge jackpots as if you were playing in the casino.
Gambling Apps where you play casino games and win real money have become all the rage in the mobile gambling world. It makes sense that apps that simulate slot machine play would be popular as well, especially since many casino-goers prefer slots above all else. You can play slot games for money with these apps and get the same kind of excitement as you would from a live casino.Online CasinoBonusGet Started1100% up to €250Go to Site2Betway100% up to €250Go to Site3100% up to €400Go to Site4PlayAmo Casino100% up to $1500Go to Site5100% up to $1,000Go to Site

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that it’s a good idea to sign up for the first real money slots app that you find. Take the time to find what the best slots apps are first. It’s an important choice for you to make, since you’ll have real money at stake.
We’re going to help you with that decision. After doing the research and checking out all the top casino slots apps, we’ve narrowed it down to the following list when it comes to the best slot apps. Check it out below.
Why is it important to know which real money slots apps stand out above the rest? Well, you can’t take the chance with a lesser site, especially when you consider all the things that might go wrong. You can have personal information compromised or the money that you used to fund your account can be lost or stolen.
Even if those worst-case scenarios don’t take place, you could still end up having an experience that is less than ideal. Why settle for a mediocre experience when you can have the best? The mobile online casinos with slots listed above can give you that kind of premium experience that you’re craving when partaking in online gambling. How Slot Games Work on Real Money Casino Apps
It’s a good idea to have a feel for how online casino apps work before you get started. Having this knowledge will help you make the right choice when it comes to picking the app that’s best for you.Method of Play
In terms of slots apps that pay real money, it’s pretty much the same thing as if you were in a casino. Once you’ve allotted a certain amount of money for play from the bankroll that you’ve established at the app, you’ll make a wager. You’ll then hit the button on the screen to activate the spin.
You’ll see the reels spinning as if you were playing within a live casino. And if the reels make one of the winning combinations listed on the pay table, you’ll win actual money in return for what you’ve bet.
As for how those reels spin, it’s the same process as you would find in a casino. Random number generator software within the game will determine the outcome the moment that you hit the button. The “spin” is just for show.Multiline Action
One thing that you’ll find when playing slots apps that pay real money is that they mostly resemble the types of multiline video slots that dominate casino floors these days. You’ll see a grid on the screen with three rows full of five symbols each. And these different lines allow you multiple ways to win.
You can wager on as many lines as the real money slots app in question allows. When you do this, you’ll not only have chances at winning based on the horizontal rows on the screen, but also on lines that zig-zag across the screen. Playing in this manner allows for a much faster pace and a much greater chance of winning a lot of money in a short period of time.Special Features
Multiline slot games apps often include extra features which will pop up as you play. These features are usually activated by some sort of predetermined spin. This can be a combination of symbols or even a single symbol appearing in a particular place.
Some of the possible bonuses you can earn with these types of games include the following:
*Free spins: These allow you to win money with the right spins without risking anything while the bonus is in place.
*Multipliers: These do exactly as they sound, multiplying your winnings from what they might normally be according to the pay table.
*Special pay tables: These special pay tables usually offer more than what you would find on the normal one associated with the game.
Special features in real money slots apps make games a lot more fun to play and can really boost your winnings. Luckily, many of the top slot apps for real money offer these great features to you.Choosing Slots Apps by PaybackReal Slot Machine Apps
If all other things are equal in terms of the app offering games, one of the ways you can choose is based on how much payback is expected. You can measure this in many different ways.Good Real Slot Machine Apps For RealPayback Percentage
This is the easiest way to measure how a real money slots app will pay you back in the long-term. It is a percentage against a breakeven level of 100%. As it drops below 100%, the house edge rises. If you were to play a casino app slot game that offers 95% payback, it would mean that you could expect your bankroll to be sitting at $950 after you’ve played $1,000 through the game. You’d be looking at a $50 loss.
Of course, this isn’t to say that your actual outcome will turn out that way. If you are playing a real money slots app for a small amount of time, luck will drive your winnings upward or downward. But once you play for a long amount of time, you can expect results closer to the payback percentage.Jackpots
For some people, all they want to know about the real money slots apps is how much they can win on a single spin. Those thrill-seekers should then be in search of the games that have the highest amount on the pay table. If that’s you, you should also be aware of any special features or bonuses that can raise that amount even higher.
You might even be able to find certain real money casino slots apps that include progressive jackpots. A progressive jackpot is one that keeps rising as people play until someone hits that lucky winning spin. Such jackpots can rise to impressive levels, depending on how many people are playing the app and how rare it is to get the necessary spin.Variance
Variance measures the kinds of twists and turns you might expect your bankroll to take while playing a particular game on a slots app. When you’re playing a game with high variance, you can expect those swings to be drastic and frequent. Meanwhile, low variance slots games will offer you steadier play.
Each of these types of online slots app games have strengths and weaknesses. For example, a low-variance game will give you a better chance to play for a long time on a small bankroll. You’d just have to accept that you’ll have less of a chance at winning a lot in a short amount of time.

High-variance slots apps to win money give you just those kinds of opportunities. But you also have to be prepared for the possibility that your bankroll could become depleted in a hurry. You can usually tell whether a game is high or low variance by the discrepancy between high and low-paying spins on the pay table; the bigger the discrepancy, the higher the variance.Advantages of Playing on Real Money Slot Apps
You might be wondering, if slots apps resemble actual slot machine play so much, then why do they stand out? In truth, real money slot machine apps possess many advantages over their casino counterparts. Take a look at just a few reasons why you might choose them.Convenience
This is the most obvious reason you would choose a slots app over an actual slot machine. With the slots app, you can take it with you wherever you go. If you’re fond of using apps on your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch, you’ll quickly understand this.
Many people like to play casino games but don’t like the hassle of actually being at the casino. After all, that means dealing with the traffic to get there, the parking once you’re on site, and the crowds inside the place. With a casino slot games app, you don’t have to worry about any of that.Portability
Casino websites can also provide you with slot machine play for real money without the need to be in the casino. But these websites often require you being at your computer to play them. If you’ve ever played slots games from a browser on a phone, tablet or watch, you know the experience can be a little lacking.
In addition, many people don’t like using their computer for gambling purposes. This is especially true if there’s any type of download necessary. With a real money slot app, you can keep your computer clear of all that.Availability
When you go to a casino, you are limited to the slot machines that are there on the floor. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find the game that you want to play. But there’s a good chance that it either won’t be there or will be occupied if it is.
When you’re playing a slot machine app, however, you have your pick of any game you want by searching the app stores to your heart’s content. And you never have to wait for it to open up. It’s like you have an infinite virtual slot machine floor at your fingertips at all times. How to Choose the Best Slots Apps
Earlier in this article, we gave you a list of what we believed were the best slot machine apps available to you on various devices. Even though you can’t go wrong choosing one of those apps, it would be a good idea for you to familiarize yourself with the reasons they’re at the top. That way, if you need to, you can make a choice on your own.
Here are some of the qualities that you should be seeking from potential slot games apps.Reliable Payback
If you’re going to be playing online slots apps for real money, you’re going to want to make sure that the money owed to you can be collected at some point. This means that the app possesses a system of deposits and withdrawals that is easily understood and clearly detailed. This will put your mind at ease as to whether you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your slots apps play.Funding Flexibility
When you sign up for a real money slots app, the first thing you’ll have to do is decide how you want to fund your gambling. The best slot apps to win money give you many different options to do this, so you’re not boxed into using a payment method that doesn’t make the most financial sense to you.Sights and Sounds
If you want the same excitement from slots apps for real money than you would get from an actual slot machine, you’ll want the same kinds of graphics, albeit on a smaller scale. The best slots apps can make you feel that same kind of rush when you hit a jackpot and see the lights and hear the sounds. In addition, these online casino slot apps can also bring you some of the intricacies of themed slot machines onto your small screen.Big Bonuses
You’ll want slot apps with real rewards to give you a little something extra for your gambling dollar. That could come in the form of deposit bonuses or other free perks. Our list of best slot machine apps for real money even contains slots apps with free spin bonuses. Any app that doesn’t offer something to you for your business should be avoided.Error-Free Gameplay
One of the concerns with inferior slot machine apps to win real money are technical problems. Imagine the frustration of being on the edge of a winning spin only to have the game freeze. With the most reliable real money slots apps, you don’t have to worry about it.Helpful Customer Service
Even with a reliable slots app, you might end up having concerns, questions, or problems. The best apps are backed by outstanding customer service that will do whatever they can to help alleviate your issues. These customer service agents should also keep in steady contact with you to let you know about any new promotions or offers.
If you use these six qualities as a kind of checklist, you can be relatively sure of choosing a solid real money slots app. You’ll put your mind at ease with a little bit of research. And the effort it takes to do that will be well worth the peace of mind you’ll get out of it.Where to Find Online Slots AppsApp Stores
Whether you’re an Apple fan, an Android user, or a devotee of another company, you’ll likely have an app store at your disposal where you’ll be able to download real money slots apps. It’s just a matter of searching these stores for the slot apps in which you might have the most interest. Most of these stores will have rating systems, based on customer reviews, that you can use to judge these apps.
Once you find real money slots apps for Android or iPhone, you’ll have to download it onto the device. Ideally, your favorite real cash slot apps will be ones that can be used on multiple devices. That way, you’ll never be without them in a pinch. If you aren’t looking for real money play, you’ll also be able to find free slots apps in any app store.Casino-Based Apps
Most major casinos within the United States and throughout the world possess some sort of online component to their business. From there, it’s only a small leap to expect them to also have a gambling app of some kind. And it stands to reason that these apps will devote much of its space to slots games.
When you come upon the app listed on a casino website, clicking on it should take you right to an app store. If you use an app tied to a casino, it’s possible that any gameplay that you enjoy could be counted in loyalty rewards programs. Therefore, if you go to a certain casino a lot, it might make financial sense for you to choose a real money slots app from there, if there is one, in order to take full advantage.Compatibility
You should never overlook this issue when it comes to choosing the right slots app. After all, you might find a real money slots app with great bonuses and a wide selection of slots games. But if it doesn’t work on your preferred device, it won’t do you a lot of good. The good news is that most top gambling apps with slots games on them are available through many different stores for many different devices.
Therefore, choosing from the above list of Android and iPhone slots apps should be pretty safe for you in terms of compatibility. But if you go off the board a bit, you could run into some problems with using an app on the device of your choice.Real Money Slots Apps FAQGood Real Slot Machine Apps Free

Below eleven big blinds you should be in “push/fold” mode, never raising unless you are going all-in. Trying to be tricky and make a small raise or limp in with a big hand is only useful if you are a very strong player facing a very weak player, and even then many of the best players avoid it. Big Blind Play Against a Minraise, 10-15bb deep Playing the big blind correctly against opponents who will minraise, limp, openshove, and openfold 10-15 big blinds deep is one of the most difficult (and controversial) theoretical discussions in the endgame of HUSNGs. Deeper than that, we have a large sample of flatting with medium strength han.

Finally, we reach a spot where the stack depth is shallow enough to revert to a shove or fold strategy. BU chooses between these two options and BB will either call or fold. Casino quotes funny moments. There are some differences between being 7BBs deep and 9BBs deep, but these are minor, and so, for simplicity, we shall lump this range of stack depth into one category.BU Push or Fold Game
Firstly, let’s note that limping is now impractical as it will offer our opponent the dreaded effective final raise. If this is at all ambiguous, go back and re-read Part 9. At 7-9BB stack-depth, the way to seize the right to the effective last raise is to simply shove. Consequently, BU will do much better in this situation than BB will and so playing the BU very aggressively is mandatory. We must capitalize on the fact that we need less hand strength to make the final raise than our opponent requires to call it. Have a look at the BU push or fold chart for 7-9BB below:
If you do not yet have a great deal of experience with late stage sit and go or tournament play, then this range may seem very wide. Shoving very weak hands like Q4o and 87o is optimal, however, due to how effective this final raise size is. Because Villain realizes no fold equity by calling, he will have to fold many hands better than these due to the fact that they will have insufficient equity against our shoving range as a whole. When holding, for example, Q6o, Villain will have 60% and 56% equity respectively against Q4o and 87o respectively. Clearly, he would like to call. Unfortunately for him, against our entire range his equity is only 42%. If we are 8BB deep, then his risk will be 7BB to win a pot of 9BB (our 8BB plus his dead 1BB.)
7 / (7 + 9) = 0.44
Villain needs 44% equity to call a hand against our shove. Therefore, the aim of our strategy is to find the sweet spot where we can shove as many hands as possible without making our range weak enough for Villain to start calling off hands that are clearly in the bottom tier of starting hands. If we were to lose control and start shoving any two cards, then Q6o actually becomes a favourite against our range and is an absolutely no-brainer call. It follows from this that if we think our opponent is playing the Spin & Go late game too tight, then we should shove with any two cards. Folding Q6o is a colossal mistake against such a strategy and so if Villain is either not paying attention to our shove frequency or is not informed as to how wide he can call against it (more likely) we should feel free to widen this jamming range considerably.
Before we look at how we should react in the BB to the BU push or fold range that we recommended above, a quick word on exploiting the population. Many players, especially below the $30 level of Spin & Gos, will check the BB far too often if we limp. Therefore, the completely unsound theoretical option of limping the BU with 7-9BB might become viable against such opponents. The idea is that 80% of the passive player’s range will check the big blind and when he does raise, we are running into a very high equity hand into which we are glad that we didn’t shove that 76s. These placid opponents will let us see flops, pick up pots post-flop, and have the courtesy to pre-warn us when they have a real hand. Consider limp-folding a lot of very bad hands against such players.BB Calling Strategy
The BU shoves and we are caught in the vice of being the big blind at 7-9bb stack-depth with no fold equity. We are facing the effective final raise, and there is nothing we can do about it. Such is the structure of the tournament at this late stage. Life is high-variance and not particularly enjoyable in this spot, but nevertheless, it is our responsibility to make sure we make the best out of a bad situation by calling the right hands.
The calling range I will recommend is one that performs optimally against BU’s optimal shoving range. We must remember that there are many opponents who will shove the BU half as frequently as they are supposed to, and others who think they need to jam 100% of starting hands. Our calling range must narrow or widen against these two types of weaker player respectively. Here is how we should react on the BB to the jamming range I recommended for BU:Heads Up Poker Who Is Big Blind
Again, we have recommended a range likely to shock newer players, but remember, this is only the correct reaction to an optimal shoving range. Most recreational opponents misplay the BU by shoving too wide or too tight. As soon as you catch your opponent folding the BU with a high frequency or limping at an unsuitable stack depth for limping, it is time to tighten this calling strategy significantly. This is partially just because many of the recommended calls will become -EV vs. a passive opponent’s shove, but also because our BU becomes very high EV against such players. If we are going to have all kinds of exploitative options when it is our turn to enjoy the BU, then there is less incentive to make very marginally profitable calls in the BB. Let these hands go and await a spot where you can use Villain’s deficiencies to gain a larger edge, but remember not to wait too long as the clock is ticking and very quickly in this turbo format.Poker Big BlindsConclusionHeads Up Poker Rules Big Blind Brackets
Generally speaking, in lower stakes Spin & Gos, we should approach both of these spots a little more conservatively than is theoretically correct. It is possible to gain a huge edge in the late stages of the tournament based on how poorly weaker opponents will handle the dramatic changes to stack depth. Do not be afraid to try out plays that are suboptimal in theory in order to gain an exploitative edge. If Villain seems solid, however, then the above charts will equip you with a healthy strategy in this phase of the Spin & Go.

Covering live poker tournaments for a living affords me the opportunity to see countless thousands of hands played out, many of which offer interesting and potentially valuable insights into how players — both amateurs and professionals — play the game. In this ongoing series, I’ll highlight hands I’ve seen at the tournaments I’ve covered and see if we can glean anything useful from them. The Scene
At the beginning of the summer, I had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas a little early and do some feature coverage of a very unique event, the World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions.
When you’re dealing with a field full of elite players, you’re always going to see some hands that catch your eye, and that was definitely the case at the WPT Tournament of Champions. In fact, the very last hand of the tournament stuck with me, and so I wanted to look back a little more closely at it here.
Matt Waxman of Florida (pictured above, left) was in control of a heads-up match with gregarious Lithuanian Matas Cimbolas (right), up 3.2 million to 800,000 at the 20,000/40,000/40,000 level (employing the big blind ante).
The two of them had been battling for about 40 hands, and while both players had been raising most buttons earlier, they began limping frequently once they had reached this new level and increased blinds. The Action
Cimbolas completed the blind on the button and Waxman checked his option.
The flop came and Waxman checked. Cimbolas bet 40,000 and Waxman called. On the turn, Waxman checked and called 125,000. The river was an and Waxman checked a final time. Cimbolas moved all in for 425,000.
Waxman took a while before acting, using a time extension, then opted to call with for second pair. It was good, as Cimbolas had to show his for a pure bluff from start to finish. Waxman took the pot and the tournament with his big river call.Concept and Analysis
What really caught my eye about this hand was, of course, the showdown.
’Wait,’ I thought to myself. ’Why did he have ten-three offsuit? Why didn’t he just fold that preflop?’
That’s when I realized the effect the big blind ante has on heads-up play. Think about what Cimbolas would be giving up if he were to fold preflop.
Under normal circumstances at 20,000/40,000, there would be a 5,000 ante. In a heads-up situation, that means the total starting pot is 70,000, with the small blind needing to call 20,000 more. With the big blind ante, the pot is 100,000 with the small blind needing to call 20,000 more.
Instead of getting 3.5-to-1 on his money with a call, Cimbolas is getting 5-to-1. Furthermore, with 20 big blinds, he can’t afford to be just giving up on pots that already contain more than 10 percent of his stack, or his tournament would be over in a hurry and with a whimper.
It seems clear, then, that the big blind ante forces players to fight for more pots in short-handed situations, especially heads up. Given that and the fact that Cimbolas was going to naturally be working with a lot of weak holdings because of the nature of hold’em hand strength, one solution would be to simply limp his whole range from the button. It seems that’s the adjustment he’d decided on, as he limped 10 times or so in a row from his button leading up to this hand.
Considering that Cimbolas is possibly limping any two, that creates some very interesting situations postflop. For Waxman in this hand, the flop seems like a good time to check and call, since many of Cimbolas’ limping hands have basically no equity in this spot. Heads Up Poker Rules Big Blind Visually
On the turn, Cimbolas barrels again for a bigger sizing, a little over half of the pot, setting up a river shove for a little under the size of the pot. Waxman rightfully continued his check-call line. When Waxman then faces the river shove, what hands can he be expecting Cimbolas to jam?
Cimbolas could have a strong preflop hand that he slow played like aces, ace-king, king-queen, or the like. He could also have a number of two-pair combos, with almost any of them in play since he’s limping anything. He might check back the turn with something like or , but there’s still plenty else to worry about. What Is A Poker Blind
As for bluffs, backdoor spades look like a prime possibility. With ranges so wide, though, Waxman can hardly discount anything. That’s what makes spots like this with the big blind ante so interesting. Waxman’s own hand looks like what it is, a mediocre one-pair hand. Meanwhile he’s playing against the widest range possible held by an opponent very capable of bluffing.
In the end, Waxman decided there was enough air in Cimbolas’s range to call and he looks to have been right since he was up against .
Some have complained of the effect of the big blind ante on short-handed play. I, for one, think it’s going to be awesome if we get to see more situations like this where good players have to mix it up with weak holdings.
What do you guys think?

I’m writing a series of blog posts about casino games and the good and bad strategies for playing those games.
Craps is one of my favorite casino games, so I’ve been looking forward to writing this one.
In craps, a good strategy is to maintain a pattern and stick to it. If you want to make a one time killing, then bet on the high-odds propositions, but don’t be surprised if you are disappointed. Whether you quit after a win or spend a long time at the table, it’s all about the playing. Best case scenario is the numbers keep hitting so you can spread to different numbers or keep pressing. Its a low risk, possible high reward system. I usually play this until I am up $100 and then when the table turns cold I like to hammer the Don’t. Roulette Strategies With Low Risk and Low Reward. The evens bets are known for having the lowest overall variance in all of roulette. You can bet on whether the result will be even, odd, black, red, 1-18 or 19-36. Your chances of winning are very high with these bets, over 48 percent actually, so you have a fairly low risk. Low Risk / Low Reward This is a very simple system that anyone can play. If you want to just sit around and watch the game and secure a place at the table to watch then this is the system to use.
And the beautiful thing about craps is that it’s a game of pure chance. The best strategy is just to choose the bets with the lowest edge for the house and have fun.
But I’ll have some things to say about some of the strategies and systems that other writers promote, too.
They’re mostly bad craps strategies. Here’s the Only Craps Strategy You Need
When you’re dealing with an entirely random game – like craps – the only strategy that matters is choosing the bets with the lowest house edge and having fun.The only decision you make in craps is what bet to place.
I’ll have something to say about shooters and whether they have control over the outcomes later in this post, but for now, let’s just agree that games like craps are purely chance.
In other games that are entirely random, like slot machines, you don’t even really need to decide which bet to place. It’s chosen for you before you sit down.
When playing craps for real money, you have a handful of good bets you can make, but most of the bets on the table are bad. Just skip the bad bets, and you’re all set.The Bests Bets at the Craps Table
The best bets at the craps table are the pass line bet and the don’t pass bet.
The come and don’t come bets are also great wagers.
I always advise casino gamblers to try to limit their gambling to games where the house edge is lower than 2% — preferably 1.5% or lower.
The house edge for the pass and come bets is the same, 1.41%, which means they qualify.
The house edge for the don’t pass and don’t come bets is even lower, 1.36%, but the 0.05% isn’t worth worrying about. Most people prefer to root for the shooter to succeed.
The other bet to think about at the craps table is the odds bet. This is a bet you can only place after making one of the 4 bets I already mentioned and when the shooter has set a point.
This is one of the only bets in the casino that has no house edge. It’s a break-even bet, but it can be expensive.
It can also drive the effective house edge on the money you have in action down to almost nothing.
Here’s how that works. How the Odds Bet Changes the House Edge for the Better
If you’re betting on the pass line and the shooter sets a point, you can expect to lose $1.41 for every $100 you bet. That’s on average and in the long run.
If you’re playing at a casino that only allows you to place an odds bet at 1X the size of your pass line bet, you can put another $100 into action.
Your expected loss remains $1.41, though, which effectively cuts the house edge in half, from 1.41% to 0.71%.
If you’re able to bet 2X your original bet on the odds bet, you can lower that even further to 0.36%. (You have $300 in action, but your expected loss is still only $1.41.)
The more you’re able to bet on the odds bet, the lower the house edge for all the money you have in action becomes.
It’s clear why betting on the pass line and taking the most odds that you can is an effective strategy. With the odds bet, you can get the house edge in craps lower than 0.5% at least some of the time at the table, making it an even better game than blackjack.
And what’s more, you don’t have to memorize basic strategy to get the low house edge at craps.
You just need a big enough casino bankroll to make the right bets, and you need enough sense to avoid the bad bets at the table – of which there are many.Any Strategy that Involves Placing ANY Other Bets at the Craps Table Is a BAD Craps Strategy
There’s a reason gambling experts measure bets according to their house edge. That’s because it’s the single best indicator of how good or bad a bet is.
The house edge is a statistical estimate of how much money you’ll lose as a percentage of your original bet over the long run.
If the house edge is 1.41%, the casino expects to win an average of $1.41 every time you bet $100.
If the house edge is 16.66%, the casino expects to win an average of $16.66 every time you bet $100.
Which bet looks like the better bet for the casino?
And which one looks like the better bet for the gambler?
It shouldn’t be hard to make the distinction. Most of the bets at the craps table have a house edge of over 9%, making these bets worse than roulette, which is a notoriously bad game for the player.
Even the best of the bad bets on the craps table are inferior to the 1.41% or 1.36% you can get from the pass, don’t pass, come, and don’t come bets.
And trust me on this:
You can have PLENTY of fun sticking with the basic bets at the craps table.Betting Systems Where You Raise and Lower the Size of Your Bets Are Bad Strategies
The classic example of this kind of betting system is the Martingale System, where you double the size of your bets after each loss. When you do this repeatedly, you eventually win back the money you’ve lost along with a profit of one unit.
The problem with a system like the Martingale is that you’ll eventually run into a big enough losing streak that it will wipe out all those small profits and then some.
Most people underestimate how quickly a bet’s size gets when doubling after every loss.
They also overestimate how likely they are to avoid long losing streaks.
If you double a $5 bet once, that’s $10.
But if you run into a losing streak of 8 bets in a row, you’re looking at having to bet $640 to make up for your losses.
Also, every roll of the dice is an independent event. The odds don’t change based on how many times you’ve won or lost in a row.
You might think the probability of losing that 8th bet is lower than the likelihood of losing the first one, but the truth is that the dice have no memory. They have the same 6 sides, no matter how many times you’ve lost in a row.Low Risk High Reward Hard Ways Craps Strategy
Each bet in craps is an independent event, and any betting system will assume that the odds are changing based on how many times in a row you’ve won or lost.

Money Management Strategies Don’t Hurt Anything, but They Won’t Improve Your Odds of Winning, Either
Money management strategies involve having strict gambling discipline about how much of your bankroll you’re willing to risk before quitting the game. They also require you to stop when you’ve won an arbitrary amount of money.
Money management techniques are often used in conjunction with betting systems.
Here’s an example of a money management strategy in craps:
You decide your bankroll for the session is $250, and you’re playing for $5 per roll of the dice.
Your stop-loss limit is $100, so, if your bankroll drops to $150, you must quit the craps session and go do something else.
Your win goal is $250, so once your bankroll gets up to $500, you must quit the game and go do something else.
This kind of strategy might increase your chances of walking away from the game a winner.
But that’s only because a lot of gamblers will just keep playing until they’ve lost their entire stake. They just don’t generally have a lot of sense about that sort of thing. The Jury’s Out on Dice Setting or Dice Control
I’ve seen multiple reputable gambling writers express interest and some belief that some craps shooters can influence the probability of specific outcomes. I’m skeptical – in the extreme – but I’ll give it an appropriate amount of credence.
The idea is that you hold the dice a specific way – “setting” the dice – then throw with a minimum amount of force – just enough to hit the back wall and eliminate most of the rolling action.
A controlled shooting expert doesn’t have to be perfect. Instead, they’re trying to be like someone who’s playing darts. They improve the probability enough to change the negative expectation on a bet to a positive expectation. For the most part, this means throwing the dice in such a way as to minimize the probability of getting a total of seven.
You can buy books and videos explaining how to get an edge at craps this way, but I can’t imagine the amount of practice and record-keeping required to have any confidence in your ability to change the odds.
Imagine if you spent 1000 hours trying to learn how to control the dice and coming up short. Maybe you just don’t have the knack for it.
That doesn’t sound like a good deal to me.
I’d rather learn to count cards in blackjack.ConclusionHigh Risk Reward Stock
Those are the best and the worst of the strategies I know of for playing craps in the casino. I know plenty of people who would disagree with every recommendation I’ve made, but the math behind the game doesn’t lie.
The best strategy is to stick with the bets with the lowest house edge and have as much fun as you can.
Thread Rating: DabbaSo currently my buy ins for craps are about 200 bucks and I play twice a month. I used to play with a lot more. Starting out I liked 3 point molly with full 5x odds on a $5 table, even taking it up to 10/50 when I had more winnings to play with. Currently though I’m just looking to stretch my playtime out as much as I can with $200.
I know it’s good to have 10x your average bet, so I figure I can have around $20 on the table at a time. For a warm or hot table I like to do PL with 1x odds and then $6 6 and 8. I take 4 hits and then start pressing out and then up with a take/press progression. If a point is hit I’ll take 2-3 hits then continue the press where I left off. Its been pretty fun.
But I need something for when the table is cold that works with my bankroll. I’ve tried a few and had success with good luck (for me anyone, sorry light siders) but the bankroll requirements are often too high. Lately I’ve been thinking of doing a $5 Don’t pass with 1x odds and placing the 6 and 8 for $6. Two hits and I take them down and wait for the 7/point to be made, then repeat. I really only intend to use this when the table is cold and there are a lot of seven outs. Advice on this? Any suggestions for any other systems to play with while the table is cold on the cheap?
Thanks!SOOPOO

Welcome to the forum. If you want to have an intelligent conversation with any of the math/gambling experts here, the first thing you must learn is that there is NO SUCH THING as a warm or cold table. The result of next roll has NOTHING to do with what the previous rolls were. NOTHING. If you cannot understand and agree with that concept you will gain nothing from the answers you will receive.
If your main goal is to last as long as possible the best bet is table minimum on don’t pass. If that is too boring for you then adding the place bets you mention will slightly hasten your exit on average. If you have a different goal, such as doubling your initial stake, that’s another discussion.Ace2
Currently though I’m just looking to stretch my playtime out as much as I can with $200
Assuming you like to have about $20 on the table, bet $10 on pass or don’t pass with 1 x odds. You will have about a 2 in 3 chance of surviving 100 bets, roughly 2 hours of play. It’s all about making that GTADabbaHmm. I know past rolls of the dice have no effect on future rolls, but I also know there is variance. Sometimes the variance is high in one way or another for a time, which is when you see people bust or make a ton of money. That is what I mean by hot and cold. There’s no way to predict variance of course but if you happen to be playing the same side as the variance is. then you can make money. I know it’s all luck and random and a -EV game, but I like to do my best to ride the variances one way or the other.
I do like to play 3 numbers including the point, but I’m always looking for other interesting ways to play to have some fun. I’d like to stay the longest, but wouldnt mind doubling my money either. But I have a feeling if I said if I want the best way to double my money you guys would say place it all on the PL and full odds and pray. I would like something though that can develop to money making on a hot roll. like a take/press progression. Just on the darkside if possible.Ace2

Figured, which is why I said you’d probably tell me just to make a big PL bet with max odds and pray. Luckily my casino is $5 min.ahiromuThanks for this post from:
Walk away when you lose. Any step you take towards session length preservation will inevitably decrease your positive variance in one way or another (aka: if you try to stay alive at a cold table, you’ll miss out on a hot roll). Also known as regret.
You’re already starting at the table minimum and not pressing immediately. These are my generic answers: Start at lower values (like only bet the 6 OR 8) or press less often (not at all). Those are the two options I see.

I do walk away when I lose. I lost a lot of money making stupid bets and not adapting my betting to table conditions, but I do have a loss limit, and I also do have a win limit. which I’m still working on being good with! There’s evidence in your statement that you are working with several fallacies, one in particular. The glaring one, hot/cold tables, definitely needs to be quashed. Now you said you know that previous rolls don’t effect future rolls, but here you are still are talking about ’table conditions’. Sure, it can be proved that the results of what has taken place already can be deemed good or bad, to say it was a hot or cold table if you like, but you cannot say it will be a hot or cold table since the future starts with the next roll. If you could, your bankroll is gigantic compared to what you would need.
The fact of the matter is Craps is not a good game to play with an inadequate bankroll. If you stick to just making the Pass line bet with little or no odds, it is a boring game, known to have low variance. The usual experience would be watching your bankroll slowly dwindle with some unexciting, minimal ups and downs along the way. I’ve never seen anybody stick with that.
If you can’t produce a big bankroll all the time, should you gamble at all? There are a lot of factors to look at, and I can’t address all of them, but assuming you are not at risk to becoming a gambling addict, I think anyone can still play the same way I assume about anyone can and should indulge in some recreation of some kind. Gambling can be some of the best Escape, something most of us need too. It can be a cheap form of recreation compared to some of the other choices out there, like golf.
In your case, I would have to say what I would do is accept that I can’t go all the time. I would save up my money, the amounts which you have already deemed to be expendable, till I had $1000 and go to the table with that. If you balk at that amount, then you are working with another fallacy. It is quite possible that your ’total action’ would actually be less doing this than the way you have been doing it.the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!” She is, after all, stone deaf. .. *Betting Strategy For Blackjack
Positive Blackjack Betting Progressions. Positive progression implies that you need to bet higher when you’re winning and lower when you’re losing. Of course, it’s hard to tell when a winning or losing streak will end. So, like in all instances of progressive blackjack betting, you need to take it slow. If you increase your bets in small amounts, it will help you avoid getting wiped out by a series of losses. When betting progressively at blackjack, you’re simply increasing your bet as you win hands. This style of wagering differs from that flat of betting, where you consistently stay at the same amount for each bet whether you win or lose the previous hand, and negative progression betting where you increase your bet after a previous losing hand.
One of the most often asked questions from players about blackjack strategy, is ’how should I bet?’ You’ve got severaloptions and I’ll discuss them in this article and offer my recommendation.Flat Bet Blackjack Strategy
This means betting the same amount all the time. Most players don’t like to bet this way because they figure if the dealer wins more hands then them they’ll never win any money. Also, playersfeel it’s boring betting this way. They prefer the thrill of sometimes betting more in the hopes that when they do so, they will win the hand and make a nice profit.
Here are the facts on the flat betting blackjack strategy. If you bet say $5 on every hand in a standard multiple deck game the house will have an edge of 0.5% against theskilled basic strategy player. That means you will lose on average 0.5% of every wager you make. So if you bet $10 on every hand and average 80 hands per hour you will have made a total of $800worth of bets. The casino expects to earn 0.5% of the $800 or $4.00. Of course, the more likely result is that you’ll win or lose much more than $4 after an hour of play. But on average you canexpect over time to lose at the rate of $4 per hour.
Let’s take an example of a player flat betting $10 on every hand. It’s is a conservative betting strategy that leads to a relatively low theoretical loss rate. The fluctuation in this player’sbankroll will also be low which means the likelihood he’ll have a big winning or losing session is not great.
Watch ’Why You Should Never Make the Blackjack Insurance Bet with Blackjack Expert Henry Tamburin’ (March 2016)
In this video blackjack expert Henry Tamburin explains why a basic strategy player should never make an insurance bet. He gives details on three different situations that a player may encounterand why he considers blackjack insurance to always be a sucker bet.Progressive Betting Blackjack Strategy
This is where things get interesting. The Progressive betting blackjack strategy is when players vary their bets in some way from one hand to the next rather than alwaysbetting the same amount on every hand. There are all different types of betting progressions but they all have one common denominator. You either decrease or increase your next bet dependingupon whether the hand you just played won or lose.
Win progressions encourage you to increase your bet size after a winning hand. For example, you make a minimum bet of $10 and if you win, you raise your next stakes on the hand to $20.
There are all different kinds of win progressions. The most common is a 1-2-3-5 progression. This means you increase your bet by the above multiples after each winning hand butas soon as you experience a loss, you start the progression over with a 1 unit bet.
Proponents of win progressions will tell you that you’ll win more money if you win 5 consecutive hands compared to the amount you lose if you lose 5 consecutive hands. Of course, what theydon’t tell you is that you never know when that 5 consecutive winning hand streak will occur.
There are also betting progressions in which you increase your bet following a loss. These Martingale type betting progressions are dangerous and you should never consider using them.
There are also hybrid betting progressions, which have you increase your bets following a win, but after two or three success wins you lock up some profit and gradually regress your bets. Thecreativity of progressive bettors is never-ending.
First of all, the blackjack strategy for betting progressions does not change the 0.5% house edge one iota. There has never been a correlation between the hand just won (orlost) and your chance of winning the next hand. In other words, using the criteria of the result of one hand (W/L) to base how you bet on the next hand has no scientific validity. So bettingprogressions, in the long run, don’t work in the sense that they won’t improve your long-term chances of winning.
But here’s what betting progressions will do. First off they increase the fluctuation in your session bankroll compared to flat betting. This means you can win more using abetting progression compared to flat betting but you can also lose more. Secondly, betting progressions will increase the amount of money you wager per hour compared to flat betting. If a $10bettor uses a 1-2-3-5 betting progression, his average bet will $20. Over an hour he will average $20 times 80 hands or $1600 worth of bets. The casino’s expected win is 0.5% of $1600 or $8. Inother words, a $10 progressive bettor stands to lose twice as much per hour as a $10 flat bettor.
Here’s a tip to save you some money in the long run if you insist on using a betting progression. Instead of starting your progression at $10, start at a lower amount (ie. $5). This will reduceyour average bet to $10 per hour and cut your hourly theoretical loss rate in half.
But in the long run flat betting and betting progressions don’t work in the sense they won’t change the house edge against you and you will lose in the long run. So what betting system works? That, my friends, is card counting.Betting When You Have The Edge (Card Counting)Does Progressive Blackjack Betting Worksheets
With card counting, you know when you have the edge based on the change in the composition of the decks and therefore you’ll know when it’s the right time to bet more. Sounlike betting progressions that are based on whether you win or lose the previous hands, card counting is based on the mix of cards that were played on previous hands. If more small valuecards were played in previous rounds, there are more big value cards left in the unplayed cards, and the edge shifts from dealer to the player. This would be the best time to bet more.
But I’m a realist. Not a whole lot of average blackjack players have the time or mental concentration during play that is required to master one of the popular point count cardcounting systems. These are readily available in blackjack books. But even though millions of blackjack books have been sold since Ed Thorp’s classic book, Beat The Dealer (circa 1962) firstrevealed card counting to the masses, the number of players who can successfully win money in the long run at blackjack number in the hundreds and thousands. *Casino Quotes Funny Sayings
*The Movie Casino Quotes
Gambling has been enjoyed by mankind since before the written record of history. Now that’s quite some time. So, with it having been around for so long, it’s had plenty said about it, and we’re revealing to you some of the best gambling quotes from across the years.
We’ve got some downright funny winning quotes, others are more morose, others still are insightful, and the rest? Well, they may just offer you a new way of thinking.
Aside from song lyrics, you can also get a good laugh from funny casino quotes. One of these comes from the late, great comedian, Mitch Hedberg, who had a funny way of looking at his gambling habit: ’I like to play blackjack. I’m not addicted to gambling, I’m addicted to sitting in a semi-circle.’ “I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, ’You’re gonna have to move, you’re blocking a fire exit.’ As though if there was a fire, I wasn’t gonna run. If you’re flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.” Str4wb3rry Mitch Hedberg quotes (American Comedian, 1968-2005) Similar Quotes.
Here’s a quick look at some of the greatest quotes on betting ever said (or written). Eat your betting money but don’t bet your eating money.
Who doesn’t love a good ol’ play on words? Especially when their simplicity reveals such profound wisdom. The idea is simple and just as relevant to your prince as it is to your pauper. Go wild with the winnings you get from gambling and spend it how you please, but don’t put the money for your food and rent into a bet. The best throw of the dice is to throw them away. – Italian Proverb, 1790 (first recorded in writing).
Popular amongst those who don’t like gambling or risk-taking. And, as Italy was, and still is, very Catholic, it’s no shock that they claimed this proverb. You never know where the dice will land, and this proverb asks why you should bother trying your luck.
The appeal and temptation is acknowledged, after all the dice are already in your hand, but you can still walk away. You lose the chance of a potential win, but you can be certain you’ll suffer no loss. Gamblers prefer to live by, ’nothing ventured, nothing gained’, and give themselves over to Lady Luck! In a bet, there is a fool and a thief.
The cold light of day shone on any bet. A harsh approach, it suggests that the winner, the thief, lured in the innocent fool and robbed them.
While there can only be one winner, usually the bookmaker or casino, and the odds are stacked against the gambler, it’s all in the name of fun. If you go in knowing all this and set limits, it’s hard to call you a fool. A dollar picked up in the road is more satisfaction to us than the 99 which we had to work for, and the money won at Faro or in the stock market snuggles into our hearts in the same way.
Author of the great American novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain made a lot of money from his successful writing career but after a couple of disastrous investments had to file for bankruptcy.
A man after our own hearts, he says that it’s always sweeter to make a dollar on a great bet than to earn it through grafting on a hard day’s work. Maybe it’s because of the thrill of the win, the risk involved, and the instant gratification. Or maybe it’s the glamour and because we didn’t work for it. Either way it feels like easy money. Free money. And that’s worth celebrating.
By the way, if you’re wondering, ’Faro’ is a card game that was very popular in the 1800s until it was later surpassed by poker. The safest way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket.
An American humorist, cartoonist, and journalist, Kin Hubbard always got his point across by making us chuckle. And the above quote is no exception. He plays with literal meaning, yes your wallet will have more of a bulge, but his point is clear.
There’s no risk involved in folding your money over once, so it’s safe. But if you are looking to double your money, you need to step out of your comfort zone. The guy who invented poker was bright, but the guy who invented the chip was a genius.
Using chips in casinos is probably how so much money gets bet in each game. When you win big, you know about it and you are literally rolling in it, but when you want make a bet, it doesn’t seem like much to put down a few chips. Especially the chips with higher value.
The guy who invented the chip worked out that this simple trick meant way more people would part with more money. It’s like spending with a credit card. When there’s no hard cash involved you lose a sense of the value.
Of course, another advantage is that it keeps games organized, and with chips being thrown around from player to game to player, they need to be durable, the kind of durable that paper money lacks. A gambler never makes the same mistake twice. It’s usually three or more times.
Terrence Murphy has written a lot about gambling over the years, and his alter ego, VP Pappy, is quoted across many gambling magazines. His observations about gambling tend to be insightful yet tongue-in-cheek, probably borne from his own experiences, and the quote above ticks those boxes.
We’ve all been there, believing with all our being that THIS roll is the one. And when it’s not, it’s the one after that. Or the one after that. And it goes on. But this doesn’t have to be your fate! There’s more than enough strategic information out there to make sure you’re playing your games of choice the right way. I love blackjack. But I’m not addicted to gambling. I’m addicted to sitting in a semi circle.
A funny gambling quote from a much-loved comedian. Mitch Hedberg’s deadpan style appealed to audiences across his short-lived career and poked fun at everyday observations. He became something of a cult icon before his premature death.
Just like this quote, he used a lot of one-liners with snappy punchlines to get the laughs. You know, horses are smarter than people. You never heard of a horse going broke betting on people.
Will Rogers was a Hollywood star of his time and led the field in political wit, and used his great sense of humor to entertain the public. This quote takes a direct approach, but the joke is still pretty funny. Funny and true as it ridicules us for our ways of having fun. If there weren’t luck involved, I would win every time.
Known for being temperamental amongst other fellow famous gamblers, this professional has got himself the nickname of ’Poker Brat’. But with that fire comes talent, he’s won a record 14 World Series of Poker bracelets over the years, winning loads of money along the way!Casino Quotes Funny Sayings
We can see from his success that he’s very skilled and, from what he says above, might not be so lucky. That’s the beauty of games like poker, though. A mixture of strategy and luck will get you that win meaning that players with less ability might actually win against those with all the know-how. With luck thrown in, you never know what will happen and that’s what keeps players coming back over and over again for more.
We have picked nine of our favorite gambling quotes and listed them below, along with some details about the people that made them and our take on what they mean. These quotes stand out for us as they either contain excellent advice or are great reflections of what gambling is all about. The Movie Casino Quotes“Quit while you’re ahead. All the best gamblers do.”
This is a quote from Baltasar Gracián y Morales, a 17th century philosopher. We like it because, several hundred years later, it remains one of the single best pieces of gambling advice. If you can learn to quit when you are ahead, then you have an excellent chance of being a successful gambler.
This is an Irish proverb which highlights one of the biggest mistakes a gambler can make: chasing losses. In the same way that you have to know when to quit when you are ahead, there’s also a time to cut your losses and quit.“Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.”
For many gamblers, this quote neatly sums why they gamble. It’s not just about the money itself, it’s the joy of winning it. The quote was from the movie The Color of Money, said by the character Fast Eddie Felson – played by Paul Newman.“I’ve learned the lesson that the worst thing that can happen to a gambler is to let his recent losses or wins knock him off keel emotionally.”
Andrew Beyer highlighted one of the biggest failings of gamblers in this quote: letting emotions cloud judgment. Beyer was an expert on horse racing betting, writing four books on the subject. He also designed the Beyer Speed Figure, a system for rating Thoroughbred racehorses.
The origins of this proverb aren’t entirely clear. It’s a simple statement but entirely true. If a horse you have bet on wins, you’ll always wish you had bet more on it. The premise applies to any form of gambling.“Once you start thinking you have nothing left to learn, you have everything to learn.”
Really, this quote could apply to life in general. It was actually made in the context of poker, by Steve Badger. Badger owned one of the first, and best, websites dedicated to educating poker players. In this quote he’s pointing out that if you think you know it all you are sadly mistaken.“Gambling is not about how well you play the games, it’s really about how well you handle your money.”
This is from poker player V. P. Pappy. We could pick a number of quotes from him as he’s made several great ones, but this is probably our favorite in terms of the advice it contains. He is making the excellent point that good money management is absolutely essential to successful gambling.“At gambling, the deadly sin is to mistake bad play for bad luck.”
This quote is from the James Bond book (and movie) Casino Royale, written by Ian Fleming. It emphasizes a mistake that many gamblers make: blaming bad luck instead of trying to work if they made a bad play or bet.“There is a very easy way to return from a casino with a small fortune; go there with a large one.”
Something of a tongue in cheek quote this one, from Jack Yelton. He is essentially highlighting the fact that you are likely to lose money playing casino games. He’s right of course; the house does have an edge over the long term.
That doesn’t mean that casino games should be avoided at all costs, as they are great fun and it’s possible to win money if you get lucky. It’s just important to recognize that the odds are ultimately against you.
